THE FILTER vol.2

— A classic loafer that already existed in 1986, as if through our filter, began to take on a new intensity.

This content is a place where we visit people who, while deeply respecting history and culture, reconstruct creativity from their own unique perspectives. By presenting and resonating with their will to overturn established concepts, we solidify our unwavering stance: transforming leather shoes into a symbol of "self-expression."

Vol.2 Guest: Nathalie

Owner of the coffee shop "HOTEL DRUGS". After accumulating many years of experience in various coffee shops, she opened HOTEL DRUGS in Jingu-mae, Tokyo. With the concept of "a place where everyone, from children to the elderly, can gather casually like a dagashiya (old-fashioned candy store)," she continues to build a community through coffee. The name "HOTEL" comes from her childhood experience of helping out at the hotel her grandmother ran, and "DRUGS" expresses her desire for people to become engrossed in coffee and the atmosphere of the place.
Prompted by childbirth, she became more conscious of food and health, and opened "HOTEL DRUGS' SELF CARE" in Tomigaya. While offering sourdough bread and healthy food, she proposes a richer way of daily life. Highly compatible with a wide range of cultures such as fashion, art, and music, she is one of the representative figures of the local cultural scene in the Harajuku and Shibuya areas.
